2023 ZOOZ UF1200 FLEX Review

The UF1200 FLEX is the newest edition to the ZOOZ lineup of Urban Ebikes. Capable of doing 30+ MPH, this thing is a real thrill to ride! Coming stock with a motor that peaks at about 1,800 watts and a huge 25Ah battery, the FLEX is designed to get you up to speed and keep you there for 30-40 miles. It is also the first ZOOZ that offers full suspension. It retains everything we love about the platform while offering an even more enjoyable riding experience as if that is possible. While it can be unlocked to reach those top speeds, it ships as a Class 2 Ebike.

Written Review

There's an Ebike for everyone, and I think this is mine...

We just got our hands on the FLEX from ZOOZ, and it was love at first jump for me. We're currently working on our In-Depth review, and I'll also be doing some comparison videos between the UF1200 and the UU1100 as well. In the meantime, I'll give a brief account of my first 50 miles

First impressions

I picked the bike up in the wee hours of the morning, in Brenham, Texas (Yes, the Blue Bell place). I met up with one of their techs and we swapped bikes at a central location. I immediately went to a close-by grassy knoll to see if I could get some air on this thing, and boy oh boy, could I get some air on this thing. The suspension was tuned pretty well, and since I'm 220lbs, I'll probably be adding some air to the front shock to get my ride dialed in.

This thing is wicked fast

I tested it on some longer hills, but that didn't phase it. I kept chugging along right at 24-26 MPH. The downhills? Forget about it! 32-35MPH was easily achievable, and while most bikes CAN go that fast, sometimes the frame designs make those speeds feel a little unsafe. Sure, that adds to the adrenaline pump, but the FLEX was rock-steady, and I felt like I could easily do 50 MPH before things had the potential to get squirrely.

Battery life

I picked up the battery one bar away from a full charge and put at least 20 miles on it before the battery was showing one bar remaining. I was surprised to find I was still able to get top speeds, even at one bar remaining, which is something you don't always get out of Ebikes in general.

Honesty is the best policy

I have to be honest, cause that's what reviewers do (at least, that's what we do around here), this is personally my favorite Ebike I have ever ridden. So, take what I say here, or in the upcoming review with that in mind. My use case and riding style may be different than yours, so the UU1200 may not fit the description of what you're after with an Ebike. For me, I don't think it could get any better, but only time in the saddle and putting the FLEX through its paces will tell.

Stay tuned for more ZOOZ content in the very near future.
