COMPANY OVERVIEW:
First things first, the REVV 1 Full-Suspension will set you back $2,395 USD. Before you start panicking about the price, remember that Ride1Up offers a one-year warranty, and we haven’t even talked about all of the specs in this feature-rich Ebike! Plus, their commitment to quality is sure to keep you riding in style for years to come.
MOTOR:
Now, let's talk about this 750-watt Bafang motor. The rear-hub motor is cranking in at 90 Nm of torque, though I must admit, that seems a bit on the conservative side. Boasting a 28 Amp controller, this thing straight-up RIPS! And with the ability to switch between throttle and cadence pedal assist, you can choose how much of that rip you want. The Revv1 ships as a class 2 ebike, but that’s unlockable to 28 MPH. Just give Ride1Up shout out and they will give you the key to unleash this beast. After that, you'll be leaving your fellow cyclists in the dust, their cries of “That’s cheating!”, quickly fading in the distance.
BATTERY:
The REVV 1 comes with a Samsung lithium-ion battery that packs a punch with 52V and 20Ah. With 1040 Watt-hours, that's a lot of juice! And with a charge time of only 5 hours, thanks to their 4-Amp quick charger, you won't have to wait long to hit the road. Now, the estimated range is between 30 and 60 miles, but let's be honest here, that's dependent on a lot of factors, including the rider's weight, terrain, and how much throttle you're using. So take those numbers, subtract a few miles, and you’re looking at some better estimates.
FRAME:
The REVV 1's frame is made of 6061 aluminum alloy, which means it's strong and durable without being too heavy. And with a total weight of 93 lbs, it's not the lightest bike out there, but it's manageable. The Moss Green and Graphite Gray color options are sleek and modern, so you'll look cool as heck while you ride. Plus, with attachment points for fenders, bottle cages, and a center cage, you can customize this bike to fit your needs. The REVV 1 has some great geometry as well! It has a very approachable 33-inch standover height and a 15-inch reach. This makes it accessible to most riders between 5’2” and 6’4”.
SUSPENSION:
The front fork here has 120mm of travel, and with pre-load, rebound, and lockout options, you can adjust it to suit your needs. The CST Scout 20”x4” tires are perfect for urban riding and light off-road adventures. And with the added bonus of puncture resistance, you won't have to worry about pesky flats. Under your nether regions, you’ll find a DNM rear shock with rebound and lockout functions. This suspension trifecta makes the REVV 1 one of the more cush cruisers we’ve ridden this year. This one may have earned a permanent spot in the shop.
BRAKES:
The 4-piston hydraulic brakes with 180mm rotors on the front and rear are sure to bring you to a stop quickly and smoothly. No need to worry about flying off the handlebars here. And the double-locking rubber ergonomic grips and custom cafe-style saddle will keep you comfortable on even the longest rides.
LIGHTS/FENDERS/EXTRAS:
The REVV 1 comes with an integrated front light and integrated rear light .The front light does not have an off switch, at least not one we could find, so this Bright light is on all the time. We love that Ride 1 Up is looking out for rider safety here, but it would be nice to have the option to turn the monster headlight off to conserve that precious juice. We also see front and rear fenders to keep you and this beautiful ride clean. Ride1Up also sells a center storage cage, for even more carrying capacity.
COCKPIT:
The dual-tone LCD display is easy to read and shows you your wattage, battery life, speed, PAS level, trip, and odometer. The 42 Tooth chainring is perfect for the single-gear setup. I didn’t experience any ghost pedaling, and the fact that I didn’t have to shift at all during rides, meant I could spend more time having fun! I know we mentioned this briefly but it's worth saying again, This ride was very cush and the cockpit layout, well just felt well designed, Great job Ride 1UP!
SUMMARY:
So, is the REVV 1 worth the hype? In my humble opinion, it is. We’ve seen other bikes with a similar style, like Super73, or Ariel Rider, but the REVV 1 seems to have taken all of those great ideas and cool aesthetics, and put it together in an affordable and fun package. If you’re in the market for a moped-style Ebike, Ride1Up is worth a hard look.
