The Ride1Up Roadster V2 electric bike is a premium Ebike with excellent components that’s priced closer to an entry-level ebike. This ride has a powerful motor and above-average capacity battery, front air suspension, hydraulic disc brakes and our favorite: a torque sensor!

Power — 350 nominal watts, 500 peak watts

The Ride1Up Roadster V2 electric bike has an efficient 350 watt geared hub motor with 500 watts of peak output power and 40 Newton meters of torque. This motor offers ample assistance for acceleration and moderate hills, but because it is only 350 watts it won’t quickly drain the battery like some of the more powerful motors.

Speed  — 22 mph

The Ride1Up Roadster V2 electric bike has a top speed 22 mph, which can be reached by using the pedal assist, making this a class 2 electric bike.

Battery and Range — 36 volt 7 ah, 35 mile range

The Ride1Up Roadster V2 electric bike runs on a 36 volt system and comes stock with a 7 amp hour battery, offering an estimated max range of 35 miles under ideal conditions. The battery is housed internally within the tubes, and is removable but should not be considered “hot swappable.” The capacity of this battery is a bit lower than average, but does make sense given how completely stealth the Roadster V2 is. Ride1Up also offers a replacement battery for $155, which is a pretty good deal. Best part about the battery though? Samsung cells.

Pedal assist sensor — Cadence sensor

The Ride1Up Roadster V2 electric bike is equipped with a cadence sensor that measures the rotation of the cranks. Like all cadence sensors, there is some latency with motor activation and deactivation, but this can feel especially pronounced with single-speed ebikes like the Roadster V2.

Display — Ride1Up, LCD

The Ride1Up Roadster V2 electric bike is equipped with a Ride1Up branded LCD display located on the left side of the handlebars. The display is color and easy to see even in direct sunlight. It offers plenty of feedback, including speed, distance, battery level and much more.

Frame and weight — 6061 Aluminum alloy, 32 pounds

The Ride1Up Roadster V2 electric bike has two frame sizes and there color options — small and large, and red, white and black, respectively. It’s pretty incredible to see multiple frame sizes on an ebike under $1,000, but Ride1Up has proven time and again they are all about offering the absolute best bang for your buck. The curb weight of 32 pounds is also a very impressive spec as it’s one of the lightest ebikes we’ve ever reviewed.

Suspension —  Solid forks

The Ride1Up Roadster V2 electric bike has solid front forks and no rear suspension.

Gearing — Belt drive

The Ride1Up Roadster V2 electric bike uses a single speed belt drive for whisper quiet operation. The Roadster V2 is all about simplicity and ease of use, and this is just another spec that shows that. Belt drives hold many advantages over chain drives for street rides like this, including no chain grease, long lifespan, and quiet operation.

Brakes — Tektro, V-brakes

The Ride1Up Roadster V2 electric bike has Tektro Dual Pivot V-Brakes in the front and rear. These brakes don’t offer quite as much stopping power compared to disc brakes, but they still feel more than strong enough for something as lightweight as the Roadster V2.

Warranty — 30 day return, 1 year comprehensive.

The Ride1Up Roadster V2 electric bike has a 30 day money back guarantee and a 1 year comprehensive warranty, a pretty generous return policy and a solid warranty as well.

Price — Starting at $995.00 USD

Starting at $995.00 USD, the Ride1Up Roadster V2 is a straight up competition killer. While the Roadster V2 is a basic and doesn’t include any extra frill or features, it is still a competent ebike with a high quality finish and it’s honestly a bargain at $995.00.

Who’s it for — Road riders on a budget

The Ride1Up Roadster V2 electric bike feels like a good choice for those riders who love fixies (even though this is just a single speed, not a true fixie), belt drives, stealth ebikes and don’t want to break the bank. The Roadster V2 will work well for around-town road trips and will excel in areas with flatter terrain. This is a truly stealth ebike and most people won’t even know it’s electric… they’ll just wonder how you flew by them. :)
