Introduction:Greetings, fellow earthlings! This is the isinwheel D4 Ebike. With a powerful motor, decent range, and the ability to fold down for easy storage, this Ebike will certainly have a place in the Ebike space. With a price tag of $950 moon rocks, this is is nearing the lower end of the affordable category for us. Is the D4 worth your time? Let’s find out!
Motor:First up, let's talk about the D4's 500W motor. This bad boy is more powerful than a teenage mutant ninja turtle on a sugar rush, giving you the oomph you need to zip around town like you’ve got a hankering for pizza. At this price point, it’s what we would expect to see here.
Battery:But what about range, you ask? The D4 is packing a 48V 15AH battery. As far as range goes, you can expect 25 Miles on the low end, and if you’re feeling like pedaling a bit, you can probably get closer to 40, depending on the terrain and all that jazz. Now you can ride like the wind and explore more than Nemo ever did. It was really Marlin and Dory that did the REAL exploring, that shouldn’t be a controversial statement.
Frame:Now, let's talk about the D4's foldable frame. This compact frame is perfect for urban riders and apartment dwellers, and it's even ready to handle your heaviest loads with a max weight capacity of 330 lbs. Nobody better sound bite that.
Suspension:Suspension? Yeah, of course. We’ve got a front suspension fork, and some nice springs under the saddle, making this a surprisingly comfortable ride. You'll feel like you're riding a unicorn (if you're into that kind of thing). The tires have a semi-aggressive tread, and could easily hit the trail every now and again. We don’t have any sidewall reflective stripes here, which would have been nice to see. The saddle was comfortable, a little on the wide side so which sometimes created an odd attack angle for the pedals, but if you’re mostly looking to throttle around, then it was comfy.
Drivetrain:Now, let's shift gears and talk about the D4's drivetrain. With 7-Speed Shimano gears, you can handle any terrain - uphill climbs, downhill descents, or flat-out sprints. And switching gears will be smoother than a James Bond pickup line, guaranteed to impress even the most discerning cycling aficionado. "Excuse me, but I think you dropped something - my jaw." So smooooooth.
Extras:Lights, fenders, and other extras make the D4 the ultimate companion for any adventure - whether you're on a grocery run or a quest for the Holy Grail (no, seriously, this thing can handle it all!). And the cockpit? It’s easy to navigate and fits well with the bike as a whole.
Use Case:Now who is this bike for? Well, it’s for someone that doesn’t have the extra capital to throw at a more refined Ebike. There are some benefits to having a folding Ebike, such as being able to store in a small office, or in an apartment. The removable battery makes it easy to charge up if you wanted to keep the bike in a garage, and so there are a lot of options here. I don't see this being a strict commuter, but you can commute to work on rollerblades if you wanted, so who am I to decide what a computer is or not? It all depends on how you ride.
