Introduction
The Cheetah boasts a double battery setup, offering an impressive 25 amp-hour battery capacity. This feature is a surefire attraction for those who wish to embark on longer rides without constantly worrying about the next charge. Is it worth the price tag of $1,850? Let's find out!
Battery and Range
The Cheetah's enhanced battery capacity, ideal for long-distance eBike enthusiasts, is a stand-out feature that ensures you can ride further, more frequently. With 25Ah of capacity, most riders are looking at a distance of 50-60 miles, with HAOQI claiming even longer top distances of up to 85 miles.
Motor
The rear of the Cheetah houses a powerful 750-watt rear-hub motor, pushing out roughly 90 Newton meters of torque. While we don't have a way to accurately test that, it seems accurate based on our riding. We easily hit the top speeds of 28 MPH with the throttle and pedal assist.
Design and Controls
The design features of the Cheetah include a comfortable cushion seat. You know how I feel about saddles...who cares! For another $25 you can find one that fits you better than any of these factory ones anywho. The bike's control system includes a power button on the side and a display with an SW900 controller. However, it's worth noting that the advertised USB port couldn't be located during our review.
Throttle and Pedal Assist
The Cheetah offers five levels of pedal assistance and an additional throttle option. An innovative throttle switch lets riders disable the throttle function, acting as a safety measure for novice riders or when showing off your bike to friends.
Suspension and Lighting
The front suspension fork, although unbranded, offers preload and lockout adjustments. The integrated front light, while functional for visibility, may not provide sufficient illumination for night rides. Likewise, the integrated taillight could be brighter as well. They both do their jobs and at night, I'm sure they'll pop a little more than they did during the daytime.
Grips and Suspension Angle
Minor concerns include the absence of a locking mechanism on the grips, leading to potential unwanted rotation, especially in warmer weather. The front suspension angle also appears a bit steep, which could impact handling, particularly when combined with fat tires. Often when this happens, you end up having to push OUT of turns, since the fat tires just want to grip and continue their rotation. This can be a bit terrifying at first, but you get used to it. I'd rather HAOQI provide us with a slacker head-tube angle though.
Conclusion
The HAOQI Cheetah eBike, with its impressive double battery feature and potent motor, is a strong contender in the eBike market. Some design elements and build quality could use improvement, but its minor flaws do not significantly detract from its overall performance. It still delivers a robust and enjoyable riding experience, just make sure you know what you're getting into here.
