The legal definition of Class 2 is "electric bikes with a top speed of 20mph and a throttle." These ebikes almost always have pedal assistance in addition to the throttle.

Feast your eyes on the Aventon Soltera, and take your time because the careful eye will notice a lot of detail packed into the gorgeous bike. Today we are reviewing the Surface 604 Boar Explorer and let me just tell you right off the bat here that this is the champion of fat tire e-bikes. Not just because of the quality, and there’s a lot of that to be had here, but because at 4.5 inches wide, this is literally one of the fattest fat tire e-bikes we’ve tested to date. The Surface 604 Boar Explorer excels at wet, soggy terrain. Swamps, grasslands, streams and brooks. If there’s standing water, the Boar Explorer wants to wade through it, and that’s where these absolutely massive tires really shine.
Today we’re reviewing the Nakto Santa Monica. This is a sort of all-terrain cruiser style electric bike that will work great for coasting through the neighborhood or zipping through light trails. It’s got a comfy upright riding posture that makes for a very relaxed vibe. The Nakto Santa Monica has front suspension, disc brakes and a clean frame, but best of all it’s a got a reasonable price tag of $1,099 USD, which also includes free shipping and a 1 year warranty.
The Engwe Engine Pro has a starting price of $1,799 USD, but at the time of publication it’s on sale for a Christmas special at $1,381 USD. Now that’s what we call holiday spirit. If you’re feeling festive after all the savings, you can snag an extra battery for $349 USD, or a 35 liter waterproof rack bag for $82 USD. Or you could just pocket the extra cash because, well, the holidays can cost a bundle.
Today we’re reviewing the Eunorau Max Cargo 2.0. This is a versatile cargo bike with a huge max range of somewhere around 150 miles. It’s a great choice for Ubereats, or a family wagon. With the rear rack setup you can add a couple of child seats, and without the rear rack the Max Cargo 2.0 can support an adult passenger. Like we said, this is one versatile e-bike.
Today we are reviewing the Maxfoot MF-19 folding electric bike. This is a full suspension, beefy, functional and fun ride with quite a few different versions and color options. The Maxfoot MF-19 has a starting price of $1,795 USD for the 500 watt hub motor version, $1,995 USD for the 750 watt version and $2,095 USD for the 1,000 watt model, which is the one we’re reviewing here today.
Today we’re reviewing the vBike Lexo 20s. This is a nimble Class 2 folder that folds up into a seriously compact package that can be stored just about anywhere. This fat tire folder has a starting price of $1,786 USD, or $2,249 CAD, comes in black, and has some serious battery upgrade options, which we’ll talk about in just a few minutes.
Today we’re reviewing the Ontro A1 electric bike, which is essentially Ontro’s more affordable hub drive version of the G1. The A1 has a starting price of $2,199 USD, which actually feels pretty justified, and Ontro is also offering an early-bird adopter price on their Indiegogo campaign for $1,249 USD. That price is just laughably cheap, especially since the A1 has most of the same high-end components found on the more expensive G1.
Today we’re reviewing the Ontro G1, or as I’ve come to call it, the Cadillac of city commuters. This electric bike has some seriously nice top-shelf components and is highly functional and versatile. But, with high quality comes a high price tag, and the G1’s MSRP clocks in at a hefty $2,899 USD. Thankfully, the G1 is launching on Indiegogo which of course means there’s going to be quite a bit of savings for the early adopters. The Indiegogo price starts at $1,699 USD. Oh, and there’s plenty of upgrades on the table too.
Today we’re reviewing the KBO Breeze. This is an affordably priced electric bike at just $1,399, and we are pleasantly surprised to find the Breeze comes with solid, name-brand components, and an impressive 2-year limited warranty — which is just way above average for an ebike at this price point.
