Hey there, thanks for joining us! Today, we're taking a look at the Aventon Aventure 2 Step through electric bike. This bad boy is built for tackling trails and rough terrain, with a 750 watt motor, hydraulic disc brakes, and a Shimano 8-speed drivetrain. It's got a sleek, stylish design and plenty of options for customizing your ride with front and rear fenders, rear rack, and an adjustable stem and saddle.
The Aventure 2 Step through comes with a price tag of $1,899 USD and a 1-year warranty. If you want some extra protection, Aventon also offers optional accidental damage coverage for 1, 2, or 3 years at an additional cost. This coverage includes repairs and protection against damage like breaks and drops, as well as power surges and electrical failures.
The Aventure 2 Step through is powered by a 750 watt motor from Aventon, located in the rear hub. With a peak wattage of 1130 watts, this motor can push the bike to a top speed of 28 mph with the thumb throttle or pedal assist. It's a Class 3 Ebike, meaning it's limited to a top speed of 28 mph while using pedal assist. In some cases, this Ebike can be modified to operate as a Class 2 Ebike.
The Aventure 2 Step through comes equipped with a 720 watt-hours battery, located in the downtube of the frame. The battery is lockable and removable for easy charging, and it's a standard 48V and 15Ah. While 15Ah is a decent capacity, we'd love to see a larger option in future models of the bike. According to Aventon, this battery has an estimated range of 60 miles in ideal conditions when using pedal assist level 1. However, real-world range will depend on factors like rider weight, terrain, and assist level, and based on our estimates, you can expect to get around 50-55 miles on average.
The Aventure 2 Step through has a lightweight and strong frame made of 6061 single butted aluminum alloy. The bike has a low-step frame design, making it easy to get on and off, and a standover height of 19 inches. The reach is 14.75 inches, giving you a comfortable and upright riding position. The bike has a total length of 73 inches and a weight of 73 pounds. It has a payload capacity of 400 pounds, making it suitable for carrying extra cargo on the rear rack.
The Aventure 2 Step through comes with a front suspension fork from Aventon that has 80 millimeters of travel. This fork has a hydraulic lockout function, so you can lock it out for energy-saving and speed on smooth surfaces, or unlock it for a smooth ride on rough terrain. The fork is also adjustable for preload, allowing you to adjust the tension to match your weight and riding style.
The Aventure 2 Step through has 26 inch wheels wrapped in 4 inch Innova tires. These tires are wider than standard road bike tires and offer more stability and grip, which is great for off-road adventures. The wheels have 12 gauge spokes, which are thicker than usual road bike spokes and provide a sturdier ride while protecting the wheels on rough terrain. The tires have a knobby tread, ideal for tackling dirt, gravel, and even light mud. While these tires won't be able to tackle deep mud or extreme terrain, they'll get you through most conditions you'll encounter on your adventures.
The Aventon Aventure 2 Step through is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes, which provide reliable and powerful stopping power in all weather conditions. The brakes are made by Tektro and have a 180 millimeter rotor in the front and a 160 millimeter rotor in the rear. The hydraulic disc brakes are a nice upgrade from mechanical disc brakes, as they offer more modulation and require less maintenance.
The bike also comes with a motor inhibitor brake lever, which means that when you apply the brakes, the motor power is cut off, helping you to come to a smooth and controlled stop. This is a great safety feature, as it helps to prevent accidents when you need to quickly stop the bike.
One thing to note is that the brake levers are not adjustable, which may be a drawback for riders with smaller hands. However, the brake levers do have a nice tactile feel, and the overall performance of the brakes is excellent.
The Aventon Aventure 2 Step through comes equipped with a Shimano 8-speed drivetrain, which provides a wide range of gears to tackle different types of terrain. The bike has a derailleur in the rear, which means that you can easily shift gears by using the shifters on the handlebar. The shifters are made by Shimano and have a smooth and reliable action.
The bike has a 1x8 setup, which means that it has a single chainring in the front and 8 cogs in the rear. This is a common configuration for electric bikes, as it offers a good balance between simplicity and gear range. The bike has a cassette in the rear, which is a cluster of cogs that provides a range of gears. The cassette on the Aventure 2 Step through has a range of 11-34 teeth, which gives you a good range of gears for climbing and descending hills.
The Aventon Aventure 2 Step through has an adjustable stem and saddle, which means you can easily customize the fit of the bike to your body. The saddle is made by Velo and is padded for comfort. The saddle is also adjustable for fore and aft, so you can easily fine-tune your riding position.
The handlebar is made by Aventon and has a comfortable and upright riding position. The handlebar is also adjustable for height, so you can easily adjust it to your preferred riding position. The bike has a nice set of ergonomic grips, which are made by Velo and have a comfortable feel.
The controls on the bike are located on the left side of the handlebar and include the throttle, the pedal assist levels, and the display. The throttle is a thumb throttle, which means that you can easily control the speed of the bike by using your thumb. The throttle is smooth and responsive, and it's a great way to quickly get up to speed.
The pedal assist levels are controlled by a button on the left side of the handlebar, and there are 5 levels to choose from. The higher the level, the more assistance you will get from the motor. The pedal assist levels are a great way to customize the power output of the motor to your liking.
The display is located in the center of the handlebar and provides important information about your ride, such as speed, distance, battery level, and wattage. The display is easy to read, even in bright sunlight, and it's a great way to keep track of your progress.
The Aventure 2 Step through comes with a few extra features that make it a more comfortable and convenient ride. The bike has a built-in LCD display that shows you your speed, battery life, and pedal assist level. It also has a USB port built into the display, so you can charge your phone or other devices while on the go. The bike also comes with a kickstand and a bell, both of which are nice little touches that make your ride more enjoyable.
One feature that we really like about the Aventure 2 Step through is the inclusion of front and rear fenders. These fenders help to keep you dry and clean when riding in wet conditions, and they also help to keep mud and debris from splashing up onto you. The bike also comes with a built-in headlight and taillight, which is a great safety feature for riding in low light conditions.
The Aventure 2 Step through also comes with a tool kit that includes all the tools you'll need to make basic repairs and adjustments to your bike. This is a nice touch and shows that Aventon cares about their customers and wants to make sure they have everything they need to keep their bike running smoothly.
The Aventure 2 Step through has a payload capacity of 400 pounds, which means you can carry a decent amount of cargo on the bike. The bike comes with a versatile rear rack, which can be used to carry extra gear and supplies, run errands or make quick stops.
The Aventon Mobile app is available for download on both the App Store and Google Play Store. It connects to your Aventure 2 Step through via Bluetooth, allowing you to view and track your rides, as well as customize the settings of your electric bike. With the app, you can see your current and average speed, distance traveled, and calories burned. You can also customize the level of pedal assist and change the top speed of your bike through the app. The Aventon Mobile app also allows you to track your bike's battery life and receive alerts when it's time to charge. Overall, the Aventon Mobile app is a useful tool for tracking and enhancing your experience on the Aventure 2 Step through.
The Aventon Aventure 2 Step through is a great electric bike for anyone who loves to explore off-road trails and tackle rough terrain. It's a well-built bike that is both sturdy and reliable, and it has a lot of great features that make it a fun and enjoyable ride. The 750 watt motor is powerful and responsive, and the hydraulic disc brakes provide plenty of stopping power. The Shimano 8-speed drivetrain is smooth and reliable, and the suspension fork is both adjustable and lockable, giving you a lot of control over the performance of the bike.
Overall, we think the Aventon Aventure 2 Step through is a great value for the price. It has a lot of high-quality components and features, and it's built to last. If you're in the market for a Class 3 Ebike that can handle anything you throw at it, the Aventure 2 Step through is definitely worth considering.
