GOOD LUCK, AWESOME PEEPS!
The Tianrun R3S folding electric scooter is an efficient last-mile solution that lends itself well to rougher roads, and its light curb weight means it can be easily carried onto a train, bus or other form of transport.
Power — 250 watts
The Tianrun R3S folding electric scooter has a rear hub motor with an output of 250 nominal watts of power. This is an efficient motor that will help get you where you’re going without draining too much of the battery.
Speed — 12 mph
The Tianrun R3S folding electric scooter has a top speed of 12 mph, which can be reached using the throttle. This is a little slower than some of the other electric scooters we’ve tested, but the R3S feels like it’s geared more towards last-mile commuters as opposed to long-distance commuters, so this top speed feels right.
Battery and Range — 24 volt, 6 amp hour, 10 mile range
The Tianrun R3S folding electric scooter runs on a 24 volt system and has a 6 amp hour battery for an estimated max range of 10 miles. There is also the option to upgrade to an 8 ah battery for just $20 more, which we definitely recommend doing. The battery is housed inside the deck, which helps keep the center of gravity low and also protects the battery from dirt and debris. However the battery is not easily removable so it will need to be charged along with the scooter.
Display — LCD
The Tianrun R3S folding electric scooter has a LCD display in the middle of the handlebars with a four bar battery indicator. Unfortunately, this is the only information the display shows, so for those who want to know how fast they are going, or how far they have traveled on a charge, will need to use a separate device to measure those stats.
Frame and weight — Aluminum alloy, 27pounds
The Tianrun R3S folding electric scooter has an aluminum alloy frame and with a curb weight of nearly 27 pounds, making this fairly heavy considering the smaller capacity battery. On the other hand, it’s incredibly easy to fold and the handlebars latch to the deck when folded, making it easy to carry around.
Suspension — Spring suspension
The Tianrun R3S folding electric scooter has spring suspension in the front to help soak up some of the bumps from the road. This suspension is particularly effective when riding on less than ideal roadways as it really smooths out the road noise.
Brakes — Electronic
The Tianrun R3S folding electric scooter has an electronic brake to help slow it down and bring it to a stop. There is no physical brake on this scooter, and it would be nice to see this incorporated into future models just in case the electronic brake fails during operation.
Warranty — 1 year
The Tianrun R3S folding electric scooter has a 1 year warranty, which is pretty generous for a product with so a low price.
Price — $259.00
The Tianrun R3S folding electric scooter runs for $259.00 on Amazon, a very affordable price point for a simple but effective last mile commuter. There is also the option to upgrade from a 6 amp hour battery to an 8 amp hour battery for a total price of $279.00.
Who’s it for — Last-mile commuters on a budget
The Tianrun R3S folding electric scooter feels like a good choice for those commuters looking for an affordable last-mile solution. This would be an especially good scooter for those who need suspension, and a vehicle that can be easily carried onto public transpiration and into the office. The front headlight will also help increase visibility for those late-night trips, and the max load capacity of 220 pounds means this scooter will work well for a wider range of rider weights. For an affordable last-mile solution to help get you to and from your public transportation, or just for a quick trip to the local grocery store, the Tianrun R3S is a good fit.
