The Metroboard Stealth electric skateboard is a sleek longboard with massive range.

Metroboard is an Israel-based company but assembles their electric skateboards in the United States. They’ve been around for a while now and offer a handful of high power, high battery capacity electric skateboards. This one, the Stealth, perfectly embodies the essence of the company: powerful electric skateboard with ridiculous range.

Power - 3,000 peak watts, 600 nominal watts

The Stealth electric skateboard has a single 3,000 peak watt motor. The nominal power output is 600 watts, but don’t let that fool you — it’s still quite powerful. Even with the single motor, this board is able to climb considerably steep hills and allows the board to reach its top speed with ease. However, the single drive does mean this board is somewhat prone to wheel spin, especially on looser terrain or when trying to power around a corner. The motor is also used for braking, which helps feed some energy back into the battery.

Speed - 24 mph top speed

The Stealth electric skateboard has a top speed of 24 mph, which feels fast, but also smooth and comfortable thanks to the longboard deck, which is 41” long and 10” wide. The Stealth isn’t particularly probe to speed wobbles, but they can occur when riding at top speed.

Battery and Range - 25.6 ah, 55 miles

The Stealth electric skateboard has a 36 volt system and offers four options for batteries, a 6.6 ah with an estimated max range of around 15 miles, an 8.8 ah with an estimated max range of about 20 miles, a 12.8 ah with an estimated max range of 27 miles and a 25.6 ah with an estimated max range of 55 miles. The battery upgrades cost $100, $200 and $550, respectively. Even the standard 6.6 ah battery is larger than most of Metroboard’s competitors, but the upgraded 25.6 ah battery really places this board above the rest when it comes to range.

Price - Starting at $1,199

Starting at $1,199, the Metroboard Stealth electric skateboard is competitively priced for what it offers. The price can climb up to $1,974 though with upgrades, which include the larger capacity battery options, larger 97mm or 107 mm wheels (standard wheels are 83mm) and more powerful 10 watt output lights (standard lights are 2 watt output).

Who’s it for - Extreme commuters

This feels like a good choice for those looking for an electric skateboard to commute extreme distances, or for those who live in a particularly hilly area and need the extra juice to keep them going. The longboard deck makes extended rides comfortable and also gives the rider confidence to ride at top speed while still having complete control. The power and speed means the Stealth can race through traffic, and also up hills. When it comes to an electric skateboard that can go for miles and miles and then keep on going, the Stealth is hard to beat.
