The Mokacam MantourX folding electric scooter is an interesting last-mile solution with innovative self-balancing technology, making it incredibly easy to carry along with once the ride is over.
Power — 240 watts
The Mokacam MantourX folding electric scooter has a rear hub motor with an output of 240 watts of power. This is an efficient motor that works well with flat terrain, but isn’t ideal for steep hills.
Speed — 12 mph
The Mokacam MantourX folding electric scooter has a top speed of 12 mph, which can be reached using the throttle. This is a bit slower than some electric scooter, but since the MantourX is really geared towards last-mile commuter, speed really isn’t going to be as important compared to those with longer commutes.
Battery and Range — 24 volt, 5 amp hour, 9 mile range
The Mokacam MantourX folding electric scooter runs on a 24 volt system and has a 5 amp hour battery for an estimated max range of 9 miles. The battery is housed on the handlebars which helps to keep the cells free from dirt and debris, but it does make the MantourX a bit top heavy.
Display — LCD
The Mokacam MantourX folding electric scooter has an LCD display in the middle of the handlebars which displays the current speed and also has a four bar battery indicator.
Frame and weight — Aluminum alloy, 15 pounds, 176 pound load capacity
The Mokacam MantourX folding electric scooter is constructed from carbon fiber and aluminum alloy with a curb weight of just 15 pounds. This is pretty light and really makes this scooter easy to carry, or riders can just use the self-balancing technology. The max load capacity on the MantourX however is just 176 pounds, which means this the MantourX is geared towards lighter riders.
Brakes — Electronic
The Mokacam MantourX folding electric scooter has an electronic brake and foot brake. The mechanical braking is strong on the MantourX, and for those times when you need some extra stopping power, the foot brake is a nice touch.
Price — Starting at $399
The Mokacam MantourX folding electric scooter runs for $399 for their Indiegogo price, but that price will rise sharply to $699 once it hits the market.
Who’s it for — Last-mile commuters
The Mokacam MantourX folding electric scooter feels like a good choice for those with a shorter commute, and especially for those that don’t want to have to lug around their personal electric vehicle once the ride is over. The self-balancing technology in the MantourX is pretty cool and makes it incredibly easy to “carry” around. This scooter is best used on flatter streets since it has a 240 watt motor, but for those that want something lightweight and easy to use, the MantourX is hard to beat.
