Written Review

The BPM Imports F-95 is a well rounded fat tire electric bike with an incredibly powerful hub motor and a larger-than-average battery.

Power — 1,000 nominal watts, 1,500 peak watts

The BPM Imports F-95 electric bike has a powerful Bafang hub motor with 1,000 nominal watts of power and approximately 1,500 watts of peak power, and 85 Newton meters of torque. This is a great hill climber and mud warrior.

Speed  — 28 mph

The BPM Imports F-95 electric bike has a top speed of 28 mph, which can be reached using the throttle or pedal assist, making this a class 3 electric bike and therefore not legal to ride in some areas.

Battery and Range — 48 volt 17 ah, 50 miles

The BPM Imports F-95 electric bike runs on a 48 volt system and has a massive 17 ah battery for an estimated max range of 50 miles with pedal assist. The battery is located behind the seat post, which does make the F-95 a bit back heavy since the motor is also in the back wheel. The battery can be removed for charging and storage.

Pedal assist sensor — Cadence sensor

The BPM Imports F-95 electric bike is equipped with a cadence sensor that measures the rotation of the cranks. Like most cadence sensors, there is some delay from the time the rider starts and stops pedaling to the time the motor activates and deactivates.

Display — LCD

The BPM Imports F-95 electric bike display is located on the left side of the handlebars with plenty of electronic feedback including speed, distance, battery level, wattage output and more.

Frame and weight — 6061 Aluminum alloy, 65 pounds

The BPM Imports F-95 electric bike one frame size and one color — black — with a curb weight of nearly 65 pounds. This is a bit above average in terms of weight, but the F-95 does have front suspension, fat tires, a huge motor and seat post suspension, all of which adds a few pounds.

Suspension —  Spring suspension, 100 mm of travel

The BPM Imports F-95 electric bike has a no-name spring suspension that offers 100 mm of travel. It also has compression adjust, preload adjust and lockout. This suspension does a good job at mitigating moderate shocks but it’s not well suited for extreme downhill trails or big air.

Gearing — Shimano, 7 speed

The BPM Imports F-95 electric bike has a Shimano Tourney derailleur with a 7-speed cassette. It uses a Shimano SIS Index thumb shifter on the right side of the handlebars.

Brakes — Tektro, hydraulic disc

The BPM Imports F-95 electric bike has Tektro hydraulic disc brakes in the front and rear with 160 mm rotors. These brakes offer ample stopping powered the brake levers are equipped with motor inhibitors, which instantly cut power to the motor whenever the brake levers are depressed.

Warranty — 1 year battery, 90 days parts

The BPM Imports F-95 electric bike has a 1 year warranty on the battery and 90 days on the parts, but there is an option to upgrade to a 1 year warranty on parts for an additional $99.00.

Price — Starting at $1,895

Starting at $1,895, the BPM Imports F-95 electric bike is well priced considering the powerful motor, huge battery, fat tires and front suspension. BPM Imports also offers free shipping anywhere in the U.S., which is a nice bit of savings.

Who’s it for — Adventurers with limited space

This feels like a good choice for those who love the outdoors and want an electric bike that can be used as a commuter but also a light trail rider. The front suspension, seat post suspension and fat tires make this a relatively cush ride, and the included rear rack is a nice tough for carrying cargo. There is also the option to add a front basket, though it’s attachment points aren’t the best. For those who need a good all-rounder electric bike at a fair price, the F-95 is worth a look.
